Through intuitive gestural abstraction, layering, selecting and concealing, Yvette plays with the tension that occurs when control is disrupted within intimate spaces. She is interested in moments of change, exploring notions of inclusivity versus alienation, taking inspiration from daily colour-saturated backdrops and the human condition. Yvette uses paint to create vivid -scapes, which may bury, reveal or crescendo transitionary light-seeking episodes. Agitated abstract forms open up portals to possibility, otherness and swerving optimism within this age of anxiety.
